FAQs
Do I need planning permission for my project?
1
Not always. Some extensions, conversions and alterations may fall under Permitted Development, but this depends on the property, location, previous alterations and the type of work proposed.
I can review the project early on and advise whether planning permission, a Lawful Development Certificate or another route is likely to be needed.
What drawings will I need?
2
This depends on the stage and type of project.
Most projects begin with existing and proposed drawings for feasibility or planning. If the project moves forward, you may also need Building Regulations drawings, structural information, construction details and coordination with other consultants.
I’ll explain what is actually needed for your project, rather than overcomplicating it.
Can you help with both planning and Building Regulations?
3
Yes. I can support projects from early feasibility and planning applications through to Building Regulations and technical drawing packages.
This can include existing and proposed drawings, planning submissions, lawful development certificates, planning statements, heritage statements, conservation statements, design/access statements and supporting information for more sensitive sites.
Where structural calculations, specialist reports or additional consultant input are required, I can help coordinate that process so the information works together properly.
How do I get started?
4
Send a brief enquiry with the project address, what you’re hoping to do, and any drawings, photos or sketches you already have.
I’ll review the information, advise on likely next steps, and arrange an initial conversation if the project looks suitable.
